Staff Stories
Mike Lawlor
VP & General Manager,
CET
Mike joined
MacLean Construction in 1987, as an estimator and was recently
promoted to V.P. and General Manager of the operation. Sharon
notes
that it was his chance to move up the ladder in the
business, and was a good move for Mike, a great move for the
company. The staff are fiercely protective of the family
atmosphere and it’s evident that promoting from within was the
right move for this close knit group.
When speaking with Mike, he said he felt the greatest
accomplishment for him at MacLean’s was Andrew’s of Stratford.
He feels the high quality, small touches, and special attention
to detail made this project one to be proud of, and refers to it
as “like a 5 Star Hotel”. The challenges of this project that
also made it extra satisfying, stating that doing the job right
even in the face of adversity has made this endeavor his
favorite.
Mike refers to the importance of the specialized projects, such
as churches and funeral homes. These developments are very
unique because of their intricate nature, and when the job is
done, and done well, the community recognizes that. When asked
why MacLean’s seems to be the company of choice for these types
of developments, he attributes it to the hard work and attention
to detail. After that, the rest just seems to fall into place.
