Stratford Elementary School Grand
Opening.

Staff from MacLean Construction was on
hand Monday to participate in the grand opening of the new
Stratford Elementary School, located on Glen Stewart Drive
behind the Glen Stewart Primary School, which will house
students from grades 4 to 6. Stratford is Prince Edward
Island’s second fastest growing community and the new school
was needed to help with overcrowding at the adjacent Glen
Stewart School. The new school is a 48,000 square foot
facility, and has many modern, state of the art features of
the art features including high speed internet and computer
stations in every classroom. Other features of the building
include a state of the art HVAC system, energy efficient
spray in place polyurethane insulation to the complete
exterior of the building, large glazing panels to maximize
the natural light, and motion sensor lighting and fixtures
in the washrooms.
MacLean Construction is proud to have been chosen as the
General Contractor on this project and worked with the
Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal to
execute this project on less than a year’s schedule. This
new, state-of-the-art school is indeed a project that all
Islanders can be proud of.
